I thought of writing my first blog a couple of years back but I dint have enough patience to sit down and start writing one. Now am totally “Vella”, bored of COD, CS; bored of watching movies and sitcoms and have nothing better to do. With no experience in writing and my limited vocabulary, this piece of writing will be laconic.
My day would start with a long walk, not to keep me healthy but to reach the monotonous and humdrum classes. It’s been a month now and I know the threshold time at which the professor allows the students to enter the class. In order to just clear the threshold, we walk at a pace that is faster than the rare couples that we see wandering around the campus in night and slower than the ultimate studious guys who are hurrying to reach the class on time to listen to each and every word professor has to say. Our mediocre pace allows us to look at the random hilarious things happening around us. People gardening around the main building and leveling the grass every second day, construction of buildings in open spaces, workers pulling out and reposing new breakers every other month for no reason, the stop and danger sign boards facing the opposite side, 5 government vehicle caravans near the library (at the same place for an year for no reason I can think of), info boards telling how old is the tree which itself might be half the age of the tree, girls with funny umbrellas to protect them from the funny sun that would shine brighter when we come out of the shade of a tree. Finally reaching the class and quietly strolling to the last bench, my mobile phone becomes my savior. After the monotonous lecture and crucial attendance, life becomes more irksome due to an hour break and being totally jobless. Apart from roaming pointlessly in the campus, sitting at nesci is a way to keep me motivated for attending the rest of the lectures.
Not so interesting lectures begin and time comes to a standstill. Watching the tick tock in clock just above the professor’s head and nodding continuously from the last seat puts a good impression on the professor. Classes end and the sun is directly overhead trying to suck out the sanity left in me. The long 20 min walk starts again with random statements and PJs. Perspiring and reaching the hostel, I have my lunch in all the more depressing mess. Now tired and hell exhausted I need some sleep. I wake up and gratify my addiction of gaming which is followed long chat sessions with friends. An incongruous business plan is often a main topic of discussion. We all would start enthusiastically but after a couple of hours it would just be a gossip to giggle at. Another chit-chat would be of the funny incident that happened in the lecture or the ways in which IITR can be improved. After all the talking I would go the canteen around 12 by climbing down all the stairs as the useless lift would be off after 11. And at times when I want to go out of the campus after 12 for a walk or just to relax the guard would restrict me and give me dumb excuses that the truck would run over me. And when I return after doing all the stochastic things, I would like to go online and be in touch with my loved ones, the internet would stop at 2 o clock. My waiting for the clock hand to strike 5 and go online would brush off the whole idea of sleeping early by ceasing of the net at 2.
A lot of things just happen randomly here for no damn reason. But at the end I feel that, the all sempiternal long chats, small fights among the friends, stupid comments on one other, the unmatched scenic beauty of the campus, the boring professors will always be remembered in our hearts forever and these 4 years will be the most memorable years in my life.
